FARTHER NORTH UP THE VALLEY: VERNON

If I head north of here, past Kelowna, I come to a place called Vernon.  It is about an hour and one half drive.  It is on the tip of Okanagan Lake.  It has its own lake as well, called Kalamalka. (Lake of many colors)  Vernon is another place that has increased its population.  Being in the Okanagan, it is another tourist place.  We have a very beautiful valley with Okanagan Lake at its centre.

SEEING THE OKANAGAN VALLEY

\Kelowna is the largest city in the Okanagan Valley... Apparently, there are more millionaires per capita than anywhere else in the province.  It is about a 45 minute drive from where I live.  When I was growing up, in the sixties, Kelowna, Vernon and Penticton were all about the same size.. How times change!  Kelowna is now a centre for medical treatment, which helps a lot of people, who no longer need to go to Vancouver to get assistance.
