Bangles Manic Monday

SUNDAY....looking toward another week.....

I really do not know why Monday gets such a bad rap.  When I worked, Sunday and Monday were my days off.  I suppose, it is all how we look at it!!!

"TOMORROW IS JUST ANOTHER MONDAY OR IT'S THE FIRST DAY ON YOUR PATH TO SUCCESS.  IT'S CLICHE BUT TRUE;  YOUR DESTINY IS DEFINED BY YOUR EFFORT."

RELATIONSHIPS

Today we were cleaning out the shed...I have papers stored from I don't know when...I came across this. and I thought it was worth posting....

For more deeper and broader and closer Relationships remember the word:  T R A V E L.

T IS FOR TRUST.  TRUST IS THE GLUE THAT HOLDS PEOPLE TOGETHER (NOT SUPER GLUE)  A RELATIONSHIP WILL GO NOWHERE WITHOUT TRUST.

IS FOR RESPECT.  DO NOT SAVE YOUR LOVING SPEECHES FOR YOUR FRIENDS TIL THEY ARE DEAD.  DO NOT WRITE THEM ON THEIR TOMBSTONES.  SPEAK THEM NOW INSTEAD.  IT'S ABOUT RESPECTING OTHERS AND LETTING THEM KNOW YOU VALUE THEM.

A IS FOR AFFECTION.  SOMETIMES AFFECTION MEANS LOVE.  SOMETIMES IT MEANS A TOUCH.  ALWAYS IT MEANS KINDNESS.

V  IS FOR VULNERABILITY. THOUGH WE MAY FELL AFRAID TO LET ANOTHER TOO CLOSE, NO RELATIONSHIP WILL GO ANYWHERE WITHOUT RISKING VULNERABILITY.  THE WALLS WE BUILD AROUND US TO KEEP OUT SICKNESS, ALSO KEEP OUT THE JOY AND THE LOVE.

E IS FOR EMOTIONAL INTIMACY.  LEARN TO BE OPEN.  LEARN TO COMMUNICATE FREELY.  WHAT KIND OF RELATIONSHIPS YOU MAKE ARE LARGELY DETERMINED BY HOW OPENLY YOU HAVE LEARNED TO COMMUNICATE.

L  IS FOR LAUGHTER.   LAUGHTER IS THE SHORTEST DISTANCE BETWEEN TWO PEOPLE.  IT IS ALSO THE MOST ENJOYABLE.

For Relationships that can really go somewhere, just remember, the word:  T R A V E L.
Then enjoy the trip!

The Mamas & The Papas - Monday Monday

MONDAY MONDAY....

"WE PRAY FOR ONE LAST LANDING
ON THE GLOBE THAT GAVE US BIRTH;
LET US REST OUR EYES ON FLEECY SKIES
AND THE COOL GREEN HILLS OF EARTH."

MATURITY

"A mature person is one that does not think only in absolutes, who is able to be objective even when deeply stirred emotionally, who has learned that there is good and bad in all people and in all things, and who walks humbly and deals charitably with the circumstances of life, knowing that in this world no one is all knowing and therefore all of us need love and charity."
                                                             -----Eleanor Roosevelt-----

This quote has really brought home how we think about people and our relationship to others in this world.

September Friday

"By all these lovely tokens
September days are here,
With summer's best of weather                              r
And autumn's best of cheer."
---Helen Hunt Jackson, September, 1830--1885---

A busy day ahead...catch up on the household shopping for me and help my mother with hers as well.  It looks like it will be a beautiful day, so it will be nice to be out and about!
The serious fall clean up will start on Monday.  Emptying  the compost bin and putting it on the garden plot will be the #1 priority next week.  It is a dirty job, but it will be well worth the results in next year's garden.

The Year Is Fading Fast: September already!

SEPTEMBER
          John Updike

"The breezes taste
Of apple peel.
The air is full
of smells to feel-
Ripe fruit, old footballs,
Burning brush,
New books, erasers,
Chalk and such.
The bee, his hive,
Well- honeyed hum,
And mother cuts
Chrysanthemums.
Like plates washed clean
With suds, the days
Are polished with
A morning haze."

I always promise to remember the good weather, when we get into winter and have to deal with snow and colder temperatures.  When it was too hot this summer, I promised I would not complain about the cooler temperatures; we all know what happens with these promises.  So today again, I will say...I appreciate the nice weather we are having at the moment.....

A LITTLE GAMBLING

"With slots, always gamble with money you can stand to do without."
                                                 -----Anonymous-----

It is a very pleasant four hour drive from here...Makes a nice little outing, as long as, if you are gambling, you do not spend more than you are prepared to lose.  It is a bus tour by a local company and it goes every
