SIGNS OF SPRING!!
"The best day of your life is the one on which you decide your life is your own. No apologies or excuses. No one to lean on, rely on, or blame. The gift is yours -- it is an amazing journey -- and you alone are responsible for the quality of it. This is the day your life really begins."

Summerland Views
Giants Head Mountain
Giants Head Mountain is located close to town. ( View from the top) Valley and Okanagan lake.
There are two trails that take you to the top of the mountain. It is an extinct volcano.
You can drive part of the way, then take the trail to the top. It is considered to be a park, and was dedicated in 1967, as a Canadian Centennial project. There is a Cairn at the top with a time capsule of that era. It is to be opened in 100 years.

SPACE; The last frontier??
To be able to rise from
the earth;
to be able, from a station in outer space,
to see the relationship of the planet earth to other planets;
to be able to contemplate the billions of factors in precise and beautiful combination that make human existence possible;
to be able to dwell on an encounter of the human brain and spirit with the universe&mdash
all this enlarges the human horizon …
— Norman Cousins, 1973to be able, from a station in outer space,

to be able to contemplate the billions of factors in precise and beautiful combination that make human existence possible;
to be able to dwell on an encounter of the human brain and spirit with the universe&mdash
all this enlarges the human horizon …
There is beauty in space, and it is orderly. There is no
weather, and there is regularity. It is predictable. Just look at our
little Explorer; you can set your clock by it—literally; it is more
accurate than your clock. Everything in space obeys the laws of physics.
If you know these laws, and obey them, space will treat you kindly.
— Wernher von Braun, quoted in 'Space: Reach for the Stars',
Time magazine, 17 February 1958.
COMING BACK FROM SPACE
A year in space...it really is marvelous, how thing have evolved.
Is it a good thing? Or, is it something that should be left alone.
Sometimes I wonder....We have already made a mess of the earth...
Have we learned anything????

JUST ONE MORE THING....ABOUT STOMPIN TOM CONNORS....
I found what was written on him headstone very moving....what more can be said, about anyone...
His head stone reads:
The body has returned to sod,
The spirit has returned to God.
So on this spot, no need for grief,
Here only lies a fallen leaf.
Until new blossoms form in time,
The tree is where I now reside.
But with this poem, as you can see,
They haven’t heard the last of me.
....very fitting!!

TRULY CANADIAN
I have included a couple of his songs. He became very well known for being Canadian and being proud of it! Market Place was a good CBC program to help consumers that aired every week...He sang the theme song! Most people think of Hockey as being Canada's National sport, he also sang that theme song as well....
