We are not a large Community, but when the people of our town get together, they make a big event.
As this event is in November, it is quite chilly, sometimes it is snowing...(none in the forcast for this evening) The streets and business' are decorated with lights, also, peoples homes in the community. The lights are turned off at 7:00 pm, then lit up again! Later in the evening there are fireworks. There is something for everyone: food, entertainments, crafts for the kids, displays of local arts and crafts to buy, (or just enjoy) People visit from nearby communities...It is definitely a Celebration!
What a lovely idea. I smiled looking at the photos - so I expect the 'in person' smiles are HUGE.
ReplyDeleteIt really is a good event! We went last evening, the streets were full of people, so it was well attended. We did not stay for some of the entertainment or the fireworks. The children were very excited. Colored light sticks could be purchased and the kids loved them!
