"LOVE DOES NOT CONSIST OF GAZING AT EACH OTHER, BUT IN LOOKING TOGETHER IN THE SAME DIRECTION."
-----Antoine de Saint-Exupery-----
We left here on the 12th to go to Nanaimo, BC to attend my friend's nieces' wedding on February 13th. (I imagine that is the closest one can get to a Valentines wedding when it falls on a Sunday) It was a long trip over, taking most of the day to get there. Once you get to Vancouver, there is a two hour ferry ride to get to the island. We had pre-booked nice accomodation. At the time, we did not know that it was so close to where the wedding was being held. The wedding was not until 6:00 that evening so we spent the day getting to know the city, a little bit. The wedding was very nice, about 100 people in attendance. There was a nice potluck meal and dancing to a DJ everyone seemed to have a good time. On Sunday we did a bit of exploring of the area and drove to Qualicum Beach, a few miles away. The weather was rainy for the most part, but we had a nice relaxing Valentines Day. We left where we were staying about 8:30 Monday morning to drive to the Ferry, which did not leave until 10:15. But, of course, one has to line up to get on a Ferry. It was raining when we left, and rained all the way home. With lunch stop and other rest stops, we were not home until 7:30 pm. It was a long day, but we were glad to have attended the wedding. Now, it is time to get back into our normal routine!
Nanaimo is reached by BC Ferries from Tsawassen or Horeshoe Bay.

Love that quote.
ReplyDeleteAnd your photos. A truly beautiful city.
It really was a nice trip. It is too bad that it rained the whole time we were there.
